Senior IT industry executive, recognized for leading high performing sales and services organizations. Gigi has a proven track record of leading change, transforming underperforming organizations, and exceeding revenue and margin goals. Her broad experience base spans public sector, commercial sales, services, channels, alliances, business development, and operations at industry leaders as Sun Microsystems, Apple Computer, Oracle and most recently Symantec. She is an experienced public speaker and media resource on cyber security, data center consolidation, cloud, mobility, and diversity and inclusion. Gigi is Co-Founder Accelerated Government Strategies and Co-host of the FederalNewsRadio 1500 AM, show “Women of Washington.”
Describe your functional experience:
- Responsible for all aspects of Symantec’s business with the US Federal Government, State and Local Governments and Educational institutions
- Led sales and systems engineering efforts, along with business development, program pursuit and capture, strategic alliances, Public Sector channel, sales specialists, and operations
- Led 400+ people organization which drove $500M annual revenue
- Spearheaded and led the acquisition/integration of a cyber security company into Symantec
- Responsible for leading consulting, managed services, education, and business critical support services across the Americas
- Full P&L responsibility
- Managed $330M in revenue across Large Enterprise, Enterprise and Small and Medium Business segments for Symantec’s commercial business
- Advises technology businesses on strategy and operations
- Publicly speaks, conducts training, and coaches on women in leadership and diversity/inclusion
- Serves on advisory boards as well as non-profit boards (American Red Cross)
Describe your key business transactional experience:
Experience with strategic acquisitions (on both sides of transactions). While at Symantec, responsible for the integration of acquired companies sales organizations and go-to-market strategies, including @stake, Bindview, Whole Security, Sygate and IM Logic. Additionally, led the acquisition of a small cyber company, Gideon, into Symantec. Responsible for identifying the acquisition target, due diligence, negotiation, and subsequent integration of the technology as well as the organization into Symantec.
What is the most important skill you bring to a corporate board?
Excellent business acumen, honed and tested over a 35 year career in fast-paced technology companies, along with the ability to balance long term strategy with solid operational execution for sustained results.
