My early career experience consisted of various roles of increasing responsibility in accounting firms, to include Ernst and Young.

I am also a board member and shareholder of a startup security awareness firm, SCIPP International, Inc.

Functional Experience:
I have 24 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis for public companies, to include experience with IPO transactions, and venture capital backed companies.

The last 15 years of my experience has been concentrated in the following areas:

Controllership level position for Calico Commerce,  a $75M publicly traded software company focused on complex configuration management.  My experience included participation in the sale of the company to a strategic buyer.

VP of Finance for Realeum, Inc.,  SAAS based company focused on the residential REIT market.   I was the highest ranking finance professional, who managed investor relations and capital raising, as well as day to day financial and accounting requirements.    My experience included playing a lead role in raising capital and  in the sale of the company to a strategic buyer.
CFO and currently President of Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions, a $65M software company, currently owned by Raytheon Company.     My experience included playing the lead role in the sale of the company, which was privately held prior to the acquisition.

As part of my financial experience, I was awarded the Washington Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award and was a finalist in the NVTC CFO of the Year award in 2011.

Key Business Transactional Experience:
My transactional experience includes being part of an IPO team in a $120M public offering.   My role was comprised of the management of SEC document preparation and filing.  The company eventually employed a turnaround firm and then filed for Chapter 11.  I was involved in the management of this process, as well as the eventual sale to a strategic buyer.
I have been involved / lead numerous road shows for venture capital fund raising, raising Series A and B rounds for a software company of which I was VP of Finance.
I have functioned in the lead role of the sale of my current company to a Fortune 500 company at a multiple well above market at the time.  My role in this area spanned interviewing Investment Bankers, managing the data room population, management presentations and final agreement negotiation.    In addition, I played similar roles in the sales of two other companies to strategic buyers.

What is the most important skill you bring to a corporate board?
My financial and leadership background in many types of companies with differing capital profiles would be a valuable asset to a board, as well as my critical thinking / analytical skills both growth and turnaround environments.
