Describe your industry experience:
Throughout a 20+ year Air Force career, I led military and civilian organizations, ranging in size from 300 to 3000, served two combat tours in Iraq and as a legislative fellow for a United States Senator. I have worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and White House staffs, with foreign governments and the State Department and culminated my career as an installation commander at the third largest base in the Air Force.
Describe your functional experience:
Experienced with managing multi-disciplinary shared support services including: engineering (infrastructure operations and maintenance, facility design and construction, environmental engineering, real estate, housing, fire and explosive ordnance disposal), communications and information technology, security, logistics and personnel, medical operations, finance, legal, public and legislative affairs.
Describe your key business transactional experience:
Working with local mayors, chambers of commerce, a governor’s office and private companies, I developed a portfolio of public-private partnerships, to save millions in government funding. Partnerships included a satellite pharmacy with the Army-Air Force Exchange Service, a 500 acre enhanced-use-lease effort with a private developer, a mass-transit initiative with a state transit authority, internships with local colleges and universities and a benchmarked resiliency retreat for service-members and their families who have deployed to war.
What is the most important skill you bring to a corporate board?
A breadth of experience achieving results within the executive and legislative branches of government, domestically and internationally, working with unionized work forces as well as executives. In addition, I understand enterprise management with multi-million dollar budgets, large workforces, strategic change management and diverse lines of business for customers conducting high-profile activities.
